What Is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is identified as the states of trance that the mind passes through as you go from being awake to sleeping. Every time you go to sleep or wake up you pass through them. It's the double stuffed filling between the chocolate cookies.


There are 5 observable states of hypnosis. 

These are the 6 states of what we refer to as trance. The first 5 are hypnosis. The sixth is sleep.


#0 Awake(not hypnosis)

#1 Waking Hypnosis

#2 Hypnoidal

#3 Catalepsy

#4 Somnambulism

#5 Esdale

#6 Sleep

#0 The "top cookie." Mindfulness. Conscious living.

#1 Pondering or Day Dreaming.

#2 Meditation.

#3 Half awake and half asleep. The mid point of trance. 

#4 Sleepwalking. Great for pain free childbirth!

#5 The deepest state of hypnosis. Used for anesthesia during surgery.

#6 One of my favorite trances to be in. The "bottom cookie."

What Is Hypnotherapy?

Disclaimer: As hypnotherapists we do not diagnose, treat, or cure. Only doctors can do that. Then why am I a hypnotherapist, you ask? Keep reading to find out!

Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis to gain subconscious access. Once the subconscious is accessed, we are able to discover the reasons you __________. (fill in the blank with that thing you're sick and tired of doing)

For many it's discovering the reason they smoke or overeat. Maybe you've had issues with anger but don't know why. 

Some struggle with viewing pornography and are ready to change. Come learn the tools to take back control of your thoughts.

For others it's uncovering the root emotional reasons behind an issue or dis-ease. (Again, we're not doctors. We don't cure.) We do fix erroneous thoughts and beliefs.

When we discover and resolve these issues, the mind and body are able to return to a normal, healthy, working state. 

How Can Hypnotherapy Help Me?

Hypnotherapy will help you in 4 main areas.

Imagine that in your house you have a basement full of garbage. Over the years it has built up to the point where it has started to get tracked into your living room upstairs. To solve the issue we have to do a few things. Doing these together cleans up the basement and stops the garbage from being tracked upstairs.

We need to:

Stop putting garbage in the basement. (Thought Coaching)

Take the garbage out of the basement. (Age Regression)

Manage what goes in and out of the basement. (Mind Management)

Put good things back in the basement and dust off the amazing things already there. (Suggestion Hypnotherapy)


1. Thought Coaching-Our first step working together will be to cease negative self talk and start talking positively. You'll learn how the word 'try'(among several others) is sabotaging your success and preventing you from making lasting changes. No more garbage going in.

2. Age Regression-The cool thing about your mind is that your subconscious knows and remembers everything that has ever happened to you. Your conscious mind on the other hand....does not. 

By gaining access to the past memories we are able to look at them again from a more mature, adult perspective. Having a new perspective on these memories removes the negative effect many of them have had on you. The garbage is cleaned up and removed, leaving only what is wholesome.

3. Mind Management-Throughout the hypnotherapy process, you will also learn how the mind functions and how you have the ability to intentionally manage your thoughts. You will be in charge of not only your thoughts, but your emotions too.

You will be empowered to create lasting change in your life every day going forward!

4. Suggestion Hypnotherapy-By gaining subconscious access through hypnosis (deep relaxation) the critical factor (belief barrier) can be bypassed, allowing positive affirmations directly into the subconscious when previously they might have been rejected. 

Along with that, you will be empowered as you discover the many great things you've carried all along that just needed dusting off. One of the most common side effects of Hypnotherapy is increased confidence to make change long-lasting.

Will I Get Stuck In Hypnosis?

Short answer. No. You can't get stuck in hypnosis.

Long answer. No. Hypnosis is an extremely relaxing and comfortable state where you might find yourself so comfortable that you'd rather stay in trance a little longer, rather than be fully awake. If someone left you in a state of hypnosis, you would either fall asleep or wake up. As for becoming stuck.... No, not ever going to happen. I'd be out of business in a heart-beat.


Is It Mind Control?

It's funny because this is what some people hope it is. They want me to hypnotize them and make them act a certain way or make their problems go away. 

The only mind control that will go on is you learning to control your own mind. Through the techniques I will teach you, you will leave living an intentional life, no longer ruled by subconscious memories and imaginations.


I'm Scared To Bring Up Things From The Past.

Here's the really cool thing about Hypnotherapy, at least with me.

You go at the pace you're ready for. You talk about the things you want to. If something comes up that you feel you're not ready to face, then we clear up other issues. This makes you more prepared to finally let go of what you've been carrying. Like putting down a backpack full of rocks. Now, stronger than before, you're ready to face not only your past but every moment of your life going forward!

There are several techniques and tools that we will use and that I will teach you to make you stronger than you've been and more ready to face the world and anything it brings.


What If I Can't Be Hypnotized?

Remember. If you can fall asleep, you can be hypnotized. Hypnosis is a matter of learning deep relaxation. 

But there was that one time I tried to get hypnotized at the fair and couldn't.

I would suggest that was because you didn't want to, or you believed it was something that had to happen to you.

The truth is you choose to be hypnotized. You choose if you will follow prompts to "take a deep breath in, and feel how good it is to stop for a moment and just breathe", or "pretend and imagine that your eyes are stuck shut". If you choose to follow the prompts, you can be hypnotized.
